Auckland Prayer Service for Peace
Thursday 2 July 2015 at 7:30pm

The recent tragedy at the Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston, North Carolina horrified the world. The response to such evil has been a call to peace and reconciliation rather than violent reaction. Christian testimony about forgiveness and equality and unity of the human family has been a clarion call.
An Auckland Prayer Service to pray for peace and reconciliation – in Charleston and the USA, - and around the world, and here in Aotearoa New Zealand, is planned:
Hosted by Rev Dr Richard Waugh, Regional Secretary for World Methodist Evangelism and Chairman of Auckland Church Leaders. Many denominations and cultures will be involved in the service.
This public service is open to all and will be about one hour. It will include songs & hymns, Bible readings and much praying, with participatory prayer stations.
Supper will be provided.
All are welcome so please let your networks know even if you are out Auckland and/or are unable to attend yourself.
