What is WesoYouth?

WesoYouth is a Christ-centred, multicultural movement of young people and youth workers across New Zealand under the umbrella of the Wesleyan Methodist Church. Our mission is to develop and support youth workers, foster life-giving, local communities and ministries for teenagers, provide opportunities for young people to explore or deepen a relationship with Jesus Christ, and equip youth for a lifetime of faith, purpose, and service. (And in case you were wondering, it's pronounced wes-oh-youth).

The WesoYouth community gathers for various events throughout the year on both a regional and national basis. To find out about upcoming events, check out the WesoYouth News Page.

WesoYouth Leadership Team

The WesoYouth Leadership Team is structured around a Youth Council of representative adult youth leaders from across the local churches of the Wesleyan Methodist Church of New Zealand. This Youth Council is led by the appointed National Youth Ministry Leader (Rev. Atu Lagi) and the National Youth Consultant (Rev. Amber Livermore). Also offering significant leadership is the IGNITE CAMP Leadership Team which is given oversight by the Camp Director(s) (currently Rev. Jo McKinnell and Sifa 'Akau'ola for IGNITE '15).

What is IGNITE?

IGNITE Camp is the annual camp sponsored by WesoYouth on the second weekend of January at Christian Youth Camps, Ngaruawahia. IGNITE is for students starting Year 7 to those who have just graduated from college (11-18 year olds).  For more IGNITE info and resources, check out the WesoYouth NEWS Page.
