SI Update

Welcome to the Wesleyan Methodist website. We are pleased to share with you some highlights of our work and witness as we follow God’s great mission for us. These are exciting days for our network of churches.
IGNITE youth camp kicked off 2010 with a bang as youth from all over New Zealand converged in Ngaruawahia.  Pastor Frank Ritchie (TearFund and Life FM's Green Room) brought some challenging messages.  US band Willet warmed up for Parachute as the camp band, bringing great passion to IGNITE worship.
THE GATHERING camp, also at Ngaruawahia over Queen’s Birthday Weekend brought together a wide range of ages and culture to learn and grow together. Worship times were memorable as was the teaching leadership of Rev Phil Struckmeyer of the West Michgian District and many equipping workshops
We are looking forward to two national events; THE STREAM which will be held on 5-7 August in Auckland. “Celebrating the Wesleyan theological stream” is a time of wrestling with key theological issues. This year Dr Chris Bounds from Indiana Wesleyan University (USA) and Dr Glen O’Brien from Booth Salvation College will bring teaching topics on: “What is the range of current teaching on sanctification and what ought those in the Wesleyan stream to believe on this doctrine?” “Methodism in the South Pacific and Wesleyan-Holiness resurgence”, The Biblical Foundations of Wesleyan-Holiness teaching” and “Trinitarian Theology of Christian Perfection.” A new and exciting development this year will be a Friday night focus on teenagers and young adults tackling “Exploring your Questions through Wesleyan theology”.
28-31 October will be our 10th anniversary conference with a range of guests as together we praise God for a decade of fruitful church planting and continued growth in our Churches. Please contact the National Resource Centre for further details.
